One of my favorite wedding-day moments is the time I get to spend with the bride and groom alone. Sometimes it's before they're even actually married, sometimes it is slipped in between the ceremony and reception, occasionally I have a whole glorious hour with them and sometimes I have just five minutes (future brides and grooms, pleeeease don't do this) with the caterer standing off-camera telling me the guests are getting mutinous in their hunger.
However it turns out, I love this time because I know that I'm taking the photos that will eventually find homes in frames around this couple's (and their parents') houses, the photos they'll show to their children, the ones that get printed, get put in albums and wallets and phones and on their facebook profiles. I just love that.
But even in the cases when I do get a whole 45 minutes or hour with the bride and groom, most often we're still confined to locations near the ceremony and receptions sites simply because of time. And that's why wedding editorial sessions are AWESOME...because you can go anywhere, plan ahead, take your time.
I really enjoyed this session with Joe and Mandi (who have been married one year as of last month) and think that it resulted in some fantastically fun, colorful, lovely images.
