The first of a two-post special! So many of you have asked to see some pictures from our trip to Ireland, so here they are! I won't bombard you too much, so only a few are posted here, but if you feel compelled to see more, I'll have a big fat album posted on my personal facebook page.
First, Dublin Castle... all that's left of the original after it was burned.
Inside the Dublin Castle chapel.
A street in downtown Dublin.
The Old Library at Trinity College in Dublin. I could have stayed here all day. In fact, I could have lived there. It was heavenly.
We stayed at a great little place called the George Frederic Handel Hotel on Fishamble Street, which I chose almost solely because of its name. The photo below is for my mom, without whom I would have no appreciation for classical music.
And on to the mountains! (my favorite part!)
Learning to drive on the left side of the road (and the right side of the car) was interesting. And seeing three digits on our speedometer was awesome.
Most of the pictures of us look like this, with one of us straining to hold the heavy camera up in front of us. We probably just need to invest in a point-n-shoot.
Kylemore Abbey.
Kylemore Abbey Gardens. (Ireland has stunning gardens, even in October.)
Dunguaire Castle in Co. Galway.
A wonderful old parish we stopped by.
Drying our wet shoes and socks under the heater.
Bunratty Castle and lovely Fall flowers.
St. Mary's Cathedral in Limerick.
We did a little hiking in the gorgeous Wicklow Mountains.
Glendalough.
Wonderful Glendalough Hotel.
Powerscourt House and Gardens.
....and next on the blog, the whole reason we went to Ireland in the first place, Ciaran and Leona's amazing wedding!
